The purpose of this 6-session program is to build the capacity of Oregon preceptors to provide high-quality mentorship to healthcare learners that is relevant to a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. Topics will include: 

  • Improving processes and strategies for onboarding healthcare learners to a new practice, including orienting learners to the practice context, setting expectations, and building trust.
  • Developing formal and informal processes to assess and meet healthcare learners where they are at.
  • Acquiring new tools and skills regarding how to provide and request feedback.
  • Identifying mentoring strategies that foster learning while maximizing efficiency.
  • Discussing and developing processes around teaching in the era of telehealth.

We will select Oregon preceptors and their teams to participate based on their interest in the program, geographic distribution throughout the state, and ability to commit to attend the sessions.

 *Accreditation: Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit: OHSU School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
