The purpose of this 6-session program is to build the capacity of dentists and their teams to identify and manage patients with oral pain or substance use disorders in the dental setting. Topics will include:
We will select community-based dentists, other oral health professionals, OHSU School of Dentistry faculty, OHSU dental preceptors, OHSU School of Dentistry residents, and other relevant health care professionals to participate based on their interest in the program, geographic distribution throughout the state, and ability to commit to attend the sessions. Community-based dentists and OHSU dental preceptors are encouraged to invite one other staff member such as a behavioral health specialist, dental assistant, or practice manager to participate in the sessions with them.
